The legendary Mexican crime fictionwriter, political biographer, and activist in conversation with his sometimes translator Donald Nicholson Smith. Conversation will cover his life, work, detective novels, ’68, and a whole lot more. Taibo’s book on ’68 was translated by Donald Nicholson-Smith, a ‘68er himself who has translated many crime novels, as well as the works of Situationist theorists Guy Debord, and Raul Vaneigem amongst others. In 2009, Donald Nicholson-Smith will be translating both the works of Paco Ignacio Taibo (from the Spanish), and Raul Vaneigem (from the French) for publication by PM Press.
Co-sponsored by KPFA.
